LE FONDS POLAIRE JEAN MALAURIE
Résumé: le Fonds polaire Jean Malaurie, à l'origine
bibliothèque du Centre d'études arctiques, fut créé
en 1957 à Paris par le Professeur Jean Malaurie.
Il est aujourd'hui déposé à la bibliothèque
centrale du prestigieux Muséum
national d'histoire naturelle. Ouvert à tous, le Fonds polaire
comprend plus de 40.000 titres consacrés à l'Arctique et
l'Antarctique dans tous les domaines concernés et dispose d'un
catalogue informatisé accessible sur le web. Il participe en outre
à de nombreux programmes scientifiques en coopération avec
le Centre d'études arctiques: publications, organisations de manifestations
scientifiques, échanges avec la Russie...

Abstract: The Fonds polaire Jean Malaurie was formerly the library of
the Center of Arctic studies founded in 1957 in Paris by Professor Jean
Malaurie.
Since 1992 ithas been deposited in the Central library ofthe prestigious
national Museum of natural
history created in 1793. Open to the public, it holds more than 40,
000 titles devoted to the Arctic and Antarctic and covering ail the topics
concerned ; its computerized catalog can be accessed on the web. It takes
part in many scientific programs in close cooperation with the Center
of Arctic studies : publications, organisation of international meetings,
ex changes with Russia...
